Bait for coyotes?

Anyone try setting up a bait pile for coyote? Here in New England it seems to be a popular method since calling for them is very iffy at best.

They like the smell of deer. This ole Male was chasin a lil button Buck until I said Hello. :lol:

I shot a nice male, 44 lbs last year with the muzzleloader while hunting deer. It was going after a kill of a button buck.I was impressed at the tenacity of the animal. Shot it with a 295 grain Powerbelt with 150 gr of H777. I hit it more towards the gut and it required a second shot.
