I was able to connect with a nice 7 pointer this year during the regular firearms season. I used my knight mountaineer 45 cal 1-20 twist. I was using 265gr Fury SBT and 100gbv blackhorn 209 and Remington primer.
The shot was at 80 yards, the buck was coming from a bedding area to a cut corn field. I was hunting a river bottom that connected the two. As the buck stepped out of the thick brush he stopped with only his head and neck showing, shoulder was blocked by a tree and a fawn started blowing down wind of me, I had to take a neck shot or nothing. As soon as the smoke cleared the buck was laying where I shot. 3DE7022F-F87D-4D68-B138-E63EE1B0B162.jpegFDA4943D-AE49-4334-A518-414EB3BB216C.jpeg

Congrats on a good buck. Nice looking rifle too.
Thank you, I’m definitely loving the knight. And I hunted my butt off for that buck. Some years that’s the way it goes and some years you just can’t mess up and bucks just fall in your lap lol

That’s a fine buck.Good eating size. Congrats on your take.
