It's time again to play our favorite winter gameshow.... GUESS THAT CARTRIDGE!!!!


Ok, I have compiled a group of handgun, rifle and rimfire cartridges. Let's see who can get them all.

I put them out of order by size to make it a bit tougher..

Just guessing:

.454 Casull, .380, .45ACP, 9mm, .221 Fireball, .223 Rem, .35 Whelen?, 30-30, 7.62X39, .22 Hornet, .204 Ruger, 6.8 Rem, .22LR Stinger, .17HMR..

yeah, i think 1st is bigger than a .44 mag . . .

Well I know you have a .454 and a .45... .22LR and .17hmr are straight forward. 7.62X39, is a classic look. .380 and 9mm and the 22 hornet... I know you have a .204 but would be guessing as I do not have a great knowledge of bottle neck cartridges... I'm a pistol/shotgun/muzzleloader guy...

Ok, you guys were really close. Chuck, you are a machine! :shock:

Seems the middle one was the tough one! I figured the 6.8 would be a tough one. The middle was a 30-06.

My newest barrels for my G2 are the 22 hornet and the 6.8 rem. That 6.8 rem will be a sweet calling/whitetail round.

Well I missed that one...I thought the bullet diameter was greater than what I NEW was a 30-30 next to it. I didn't have the sense to look at the color of the Ballistic Tip though.

I really like the scope. I liked it so much I bought another one! I have that on the hornet and the 6.8. It will shine with both rounds!

doohan, are you going to use that 6.8 cartridge for deer hunting, or do you think its marginal? seems like a g2 contender in 6.8 rem would make a handy short-range deer rifle

I have researched it a fair bit and feel with a good bullet it will perform very well inside of say 250 yds. Many are using it now and I think I will give it a shot if I EVER get to shoot a whitetail with a CF. I have never hunted anything besides antelope with a rifle. I hope to do that some day.

This spring, I can't wait to see what a 110gr V-max does to a g-hog or a coyote. :twisted:
