I do wish that one of the New England states would allow us to take this noble bird with a handgun. I think it would be quite a challenge to take them with a TC Contender in 22 WRM or 22 Hornet.

One could go to some place like Virginia or some other southern state but I see guided hunts for birds in this area at a high price. I just would not pay that amount for a bird.

Has anyone here taken a bird with a handgun?

In PA they are illegal for Spring Gobbler Season...shotguns only.

In Illinois you can also use a bow to take a spring turkey. Quite the challenge to get big tom in bow range and pull the bow under his wary eyes.

We can use handguns in the Fall Season in PA along with rifles. Seems must guys carry shotguns in both Spring & Fall Seasons though.
