Yeah, I can tell lolAnybody planning any new builds? I'm thinking of doing another conversion.
Did you send him an action to be fitted on the barrel?I’ve got a 26” McGowan smokeless barrel on order from Woodman for another of my Omegas. It should compliment my 26” Brux barreled smokeless Omega quite well. Probably be late Spring early Summer before I get it.
Did you send him an action to be fitted on the barrel?
Nope, he makes the barrel and ships it out. Fits like a glove, no issues at all. The stock may need a little fitting.
The Omega actions just pin onto the OEM or Woodman barrels with two pins. Very simple. Then the barreled action drops into a factory or aftermarket stock (with some minor fitting usually.)I'm guessing the action bolts on.
At one time, I was gonna let Bestill do one but I changed my mindIf I can do it,you should have no problem or regrets.
I thinking of doing a sub-caliber. I'm still pondering on it.Im starting to look for a .40 barrel to put on a Howa action that i have. .40cal sml seems to have gotten pretty popular so im jumping on the bandwagon. I think i may go with a Shilen barrel. We’ll see what i can get(and afford)
A threaded on barrel, a savage barrel nut type, or break action?I thinking of doing a sub-caliber. I'm still pondering on it.
If I was to have another build, it would be a HEAVY 40cal, just short of 17# including scope and hardware. Target rifle only.Anybody planning any new builds? I'm thinking of doing another conversion.
I don't know yet.A threaded on barrel, a savage barrel nut type, or break action?
Never weighed my cva scout, but i agree, i love taking it hunting as it’s the lightest ml rifle i own.One thing I have become adamant about and that is the weight of smokeless 45 rifles even the Remington 700 barrel nut rifles are too heavy and that's great to build and put together heavy guns but a lot of days when it's hunting season if you have a choice you're going to leave that heavy gun sitting in the corner try to build a smokeless 45 or 50 with the scope that weighs less than 9 lb preferably in that eight eight and a half category with the scope you'll get so much more use out of it and I know some of us are just dedicated Target shooters get the heavy rifle and get after it but if you hunt a lot rifles like those rebarreled omegas or the nula 50 cal just make so much more practical sense
Which one do you have? SS or black/ blue model?Never weighed my cva scout, but i agree, i love taking it hunting as it’s the lightest ml rifle i own.
