I like any book by David Tubb and the older USMC FM manual, also I had one by John Shaw on 3 gun shooting that was pretty good.

Tubbs second monster tome is "the" rifle book-- to me.

For wingshooting, Brister's classic text is still the best. Naturally, IMO.

" A Rifleman goes to War" by McBride is another favorite. It is a classic and a must read for any serious student of the rifle.

I have two favs, perhaps the Rifleman has one or six?

The problem is there are so many variations of shooting. I like Jack O'Connors The Complete Book of Rifles and Shotguns and The Hunting Rifle. I also like Precision Shootings The Benchrest Shooting Primer. I also have enjoyed a couple of Jeff Cooper books The Art Of The Rifle and The Modern Technique Of The Pistol.

You know I read O'Conners book and I think it is a good text for the novice on shooting technique. Col. Cooper, well what can I say? I don't agree with all he writes but he does know his stuff for sure. As far as gun writers go I think the best on rifles I have ever read is Jim Carmichael.
