Ok what side and part of the plug should I measure the section that the nipple sits on or the back side where the flash of the primer exits the plug ?
Pin gauges. I got these and find they match up to my calipers and mic right on.muzzlestuffer said:Any other way to measure ?bp45cal said:you have a set of welding tip cleaners??

And here is a snipped picture of it too.
What breech plugs do you check with yours whites ?ShawnT said:Love mine. They are in .001" increments so it makes it easy to check holes sizes. Hope you like them.
I need to get the next couple sets up next.
That would be great to see them. I ordered the pin gauges last night.sbuff said:Can someone post a white plug with a vent liner installed and not installed ?
Is there a chart of flash hole sizes min and maxShawnT said:No I don't have any whites, at least not yet. I have several Knights that I check to keep and eye on the Flash hole erosion. I check the nipples in others. I also use these for measuring other holes in things too, that's why I need some larger sets too.

Doc says new plug should be .32 thouflounder said:I think that once your hole gets to be .036" or so you will start to see accuracy start slipping. My opinion is that the flash hole should be as small as possible as long as you still get dependable ignition. I think I get by with smaller holes because I use "real" black powder.
:yeah: 8) They make it easy to check and keep track of them.muzzlestuffer said:Got my pin gauge set today pretty nice ! So I measured my breech plug in my g-series .504 it is .36 thousands I also measured some new ones they were .35 thousands
