Up at the range this morning with my new traditions deerhunter rifle 45 cal.
I discovered that the hammer sits on the nipple good but when I put a cap on, it hangs up on the left side. I can take my finger and push the hammer to the right so it clears the cap. I had one misfire but for the rest of my dozen or so shots, no problem.
I was thinking about taking the hammer off and putting a washer behind it so it would stay the right just a little.
Anybody ever shimmed a hammer or fix a problem like this?
I could contact traditions and ask for a new lock I guess but I think I can fix it.
