FishnRod, I drew the Trask Muzzleloader tag. Also from Oregon. Welcome to the addiction. Which tag did you draw?
I'll be a little further S on the Coast. I drew Sixes muzzleloaderFishnRod, I drew the Trask Muzzleloader tag.
Hunted E Grant for elk, for the first time last year. Got lucky and drew it again this year. Can't wait to go back.I drew East Grant for elk and Mackenzie for deer.
That’s close enough in my book. I shoot 52-530I bullet. It’s idaholewis’s bullet in .52 that had stretched out to just shy of 1.00” kicks it up to about 530gr. Should thump an elk with 90gr volume of T7, I also use NASA lube, great stuff.I think the 450 is 1.09 long. Trim it a little.
Yes me to, I have hunted it a few years now during the rifle season but they cut back on tags and made it a harder draw. But good hunting and great grounds to stomp around in!Hunted E Grant for elk, for the first time last year. Got lucky and drew it again this year. Can't wait to go back.
In Oregon they make it tricky. The projectile has to be bore size, no sabots, bullet can’t be more then twice the bore in length. And no 209 primer. I am sure the OP understands that though.

Yea, we need to use musket caps, and the breach needs to be open to the weather, only loose powder….and it goes on…In Oregon they make it tricky.
