Only own 3, Knight BK 92, Ruger 77/50 and Accura V2 nitride. All are accurate. The Accura is a pleasure to clean and shoot.

I have three. A TC Triumph, a TC Impact, and now a Knight DISC. I was thinking about picking up an Omega. What would be a descent price for one?

Having only hunted with a few, Wolf, Omega, TC ProHunter. My favorite still today is the Omega. Would love to have hunted with the higher dollar ones but my pockets don't go that deep. Today you almost have to re-phrase the question to separate the smokeless inline as that's a whole different category.

If you are just getting into in-lines then I am guessing you don't want to be spending a great deal on a smokeless build. In my experience you can't go wrong with just about any CVA model. The first in-line I owned was a CVA Accura and it was an awesome gun- tack driver with Power Belt Platinums. Many people don't like using Power Belts, but I only used the Platinums and I was shooting 1 inch groups at 100 yards and killing plenty of deer. I think prices may have gone up a bit on them lately, but still far cheaper, and easier than dealing with smokeless or a number of other guns that require sabots. All that being said, my favorite muzzleloader these days is the Remington Ultimate- same accuracy as the CVA I was talking about but greater distance capabilities. I use sabots with that gun and the 300gr Barnes Original Spitzer, with 150grns by volume (3 pellets) of triple seven powder. And contrary to what many on the forums believe, I do not like Blackhorn powder- I don't get as consistent groupings and I think it is dirtier/greasier than triple seven.

As for smokeless builds go, I own a Savage ML II and it is super finicky on its bullet/powder/primer combinations. You can get some impressive speeds/distances out of smokeless but you will also probably need to really put in the time finding your best combination. Most of us on the forums enjoy that however.

I think with the scarceness of ammunition/reloading supplies (particularly primers) and many wanting to expand their hunting seasons, muzzleloading is becoming much more popular. I personally know at least 5 guys in the past few years who never used a muzzleloader are now muzzleloader hunting due to the reasons mentioned above.

Good luck with your search. There are really many great guns out there. My daughter, who is 14 uses a $200 Traditions Buckstalker and I wouldn't hesitate for a second using that gun- great accuracy for a minimal price.

There is nothing that prevents you from using real black or subs in a custom smokeless build. A 45cal fast twist SML has no problem shooting Swiss and a huge hunk of soft lead. ;)
Sure, they will shoot BP and substitutes, but if legal where hunting the advantage of the smokeless is the fact that they can't shoot smokeless and all the pros that come with it.

Sorry, i dont understand what you are saying.

Buy/build a custom and shoot whatever powder you need for that season. Seems pretty simple to me. Ive owned 2 SMLs since about 2010. I can shoot heavier loads of BH209 in them if i want and get MLII type speeds. A 275gr BE at 2200fps is rather simple in my 45cal using BH209 or i can swap to "other powders" and break 2600fps no sweat.

You can do this fairly cheap with a CVA Hunter or Scout 45/70 converted to a SML too. It will eat the Rem700UML (using subs) for lunch in speed even with a 300gr bullet.

I picked up an Omega about a year and a half ago for $330 shipped to my door from gunbroker. It was in imacculate condition. Composite camo with thumb hole stock and stainless barrel. What a shooter. I highly recommend.

My favorite In-Line would have to be my T/C ENCORE 45 X 209.
It is simple to operate
The trigger from the factory needs nothing
I can switch barrels and use it for the Missouri Firearms season
Easy to clean and maintain.

The only downside that I have for using it is the wood stock set that I currently have on it. The forearm sling mount in my opinion is not designed for a lot of slinged carry. I am currently looking for a synthetic stock set. I might even go with an adjustable buttstock.

Converted black/blue CVA 45-70 Scout with DI. It eats BH209 or the other "powder" very well. You can cover a way array from very low recoil loads to rattle your teeth loads....lol....

1. CVA Accura V2
2. CVA Accura MR
