They caught this in Everglades Nat'l Park.

the invasive snakes that have been dropped off by owners have populated very fast..they are eating all the native species animals in the glades...plus migrating to the towns to eat the pets...

that snake they caught would make a nice set of boots and then some..lol...

plus they may even taste good....snake on a stick

That is a huge snake. Looks like the state of FL needs to declare war on big snakes before all the small animals in the Evergaldes are devoured.
 
The state did declare war but the majority of the pythons are in Everglades Nat'l Park. The feds don't allow any hunting period.
This group is from the U of Florida. They had a permit for research in the N.P. As I understand it, they captured the snake and the feds euthanized it because it would be illegal for them to kill it.

Most of the Everglades is awash with water and pythons love water .. and thick overgrown places. It's very difficult to access the areas that pythons love to live in.
 
In my book the only good snake is a dead snake. And a magnum load of buckshot should make that a good snake.
