Hey Guys,

My dad has a 50 cal Omega and has been thinking about working up a load with the 195gr Barnes Expander and blue MMP 40/50 sabot. He's looking for a 200 yd max load for the Omega and I'm thinking he'll have it with 100-120gr loose T7. Neither one of us have a chronograph so if anyone has recorded velocities with this bullet and T7 loads please share your findings.

Thanks

Not certain of the velocity but I would certainly look at the 200SW as an option.

I tried the 195 grain Barnes .40 in the .50 casliber rifle shooting the blue sabots. In an Omega and a Encore the bullet would not group but both would shoot the 200 gr .40 shockwave.

I would stop at 115 grains of 777 loose powder.

You should try the load anyway as each rifle is different.
