Getting the Super 91 .451 tuned up for 2021.
Ordered some 345 "I" bullets and some 465's from Ed Mehlig. Also had a box of No Excuses sabot loads, 45/40 250 grain.

Second test, Ed's cast from Accurate Molds 45-465M. 465 grains, sized .452, same load of 70 grains Triple 7, 3F. Measured 1.10 inches @100 yards. I guarantee the high flyer was me, it was the thirteenth shot in the string, recoil was starting to work on me. It didnt help that i forgot my earmuffs, and only had the foam plugs for hearing protection. Sorry Ed.....😁

And, just for snorts and giggles, I decided to try some No Excuses sabot loads, 45/40 caliber, 250 grains. You guessed it, same load. 1.0 inch @100 yards. Seems this old squirrel rifle will shoot.....if you feed it good ammo.

While Im posting, I've got to share this little tidbit...I always hated trying to pour or dip powder from the jug into a measure. I found a solution.
I used an old lid from an empty pyrodex powder jug, (this one was metal). Then, I scrounged a tip from an unused tube of caulking, the type that thread on the tube. I used a drill bit, about )9/16 or 5/8) to marry the tip and lid. Tip: drill from the underside, it leaves a nice sealing flange.
Presto, a perfect pour spout. Just swap lids, and pour away. After your shooting or loading session, replace your original lid on the jug, and store your spout away.
