Shawn's guidance makes sense to me in many ways!

my plan is to start with the 180gr QT and 70gr BH209 and work him up to maybe 85 or maybe 90grs and up to the 215gr QT, not sure what order to increase, but my boy and I will figure that out as we go...
 
Would you increase powder or slug size first? Or does it really make very little difference

I would start with one bullet weight and then work with increasing the charge a 10 grains at a time to as much as 90 grains. See how he handles it then start over with the other size. I don't think that there will be much change in recoil between the 180 and 215 QT though.
