I have a Remington 700ML in 54 caliber that shoots great with .451 bullets in sabots. Recently I acquired some sabots that take .500 bullets. I bought a box of 325 grain Speer HP in .500 that I plan to try.

Have any of you tried .500 bullets in a 54? Any advice will be appreciated.

I use that bullet with a purple mmp sabot in my knight Mk85. A very hard hitter on deer sized game.

I also have a Remington 700 ml in 54 cal.
I wanted to try the 50 cal bullets in it. A friend sent me a eight pack to try.

I have now bought bulk MMP sabots and Speer 300gr. Gold Dots.

Should ber enough for any North American big game.

WOW!! that is some good shooting, and a heck of a load. Not only are you throwing good sized lead, but it would be interesting to know the velocity of that load. With that kind of accuracy, little stands a chance..

Nice shooting.

I would also try the PRbullet 50/54 400 - 450gr KeithNose HP and also the Barnes 50/54 MZ's; I think those come in two weights, 275 and 325grs. The PR's are pure lead with a gaping hollow point, expansion is awesome and with the heavy weight penetration will be good. Those will put a real 'whoopin' on a deer :yeah:
