Hello All,

I'm going to attempt the capture of a 300 grain spire point bullet in 10% Ballistic Gel. The bullet will be moving at approx 1300 FPS. Any idea of how much ( depth ) one would need to make the catch?

Thanks

I will be able to make 3.5 gallons of 10% gel. Still trying to figure out the best way to pour it to capture a couple of bullets

I want to see if a Fury Star Tip2 will expand at 1200-1300 FPS

You might have to make your own mold.. 6x6?
Length?
Send some to Ron to test..

I recently watched some youtube videos on the 45/70, and a 300 gr. travelling at 1300 fps was stopped in about 15" of gelatin. You need to hit the block in the center, and I would think if you mold it at 20-24" you'll get reliable capture.
