Next Saturday is "Inline Season" in Pennsylvania. After 2 range trips with my 3 guns, here's what I found-

1. TC Encore 209x50- shoots great with BH 209. Good ignition, consistent point-of-impact, small groups. (3 shots under 1.5" at 100 yards with 200 gr Shockwave and 100 gr BH 209) I'm gonna hunt with this one.

2. .50 Disc Elite- 1st shot with a clean bore hits 5" low at 100 yards. With BH 209, I'll leave it dirty for 2 weeks. I tried it with concave disc breechplug and got hangfires. Re-installed non-disc plug, and gun was OK. Good accuracy (3 shots under 2" at 100 yards with 200 gr Shockwave and 100 gr BH 209) once there's fouling in the bore.

3. TC XR .45 Black Diamond- shot OK with BH 209 in warm weather. Getting hangfires in cooler weather. Reverted to 777 and got consistent ignition again. This gun needs a better breechplug to use BH 209. With 777, my best load is 80 gr 777 2f and a 275 gr powerbelt. "A little bit of powder and a lot of lead- makes a big hole, kills 'em dead."

So, next Saturday I'll be out in Pike county with my Encore, at a spot where I got a deer 2 years ago.

PA early muzzle loader season is doe only.
