Black Bear guides/outfitters

A ggod friend of mine is looking to book a quality black bear hunt but the catch is he wants to hunt in the lower 48 and not in Canada or Alaska. I would appreciate any feedback/reccomendations/experiences you all have had on a black bear hunt in the lower 48. I need contacts to book a hunt. Thanks.

From what I have read the real trophys are in the coastal region of North Carolina. FWIW

Hunted Deer with Joel & know others that hunted Bear with him..

Top shelf but not top price. Rustic lodge...& dont expect Hilton like facilities but expect a fine hunt from a great ME Master Guide!!

Maine is one of your best bets in the lower 48. They have an excellent success rate compared to other states. They allow dogs and baits and you can hunt with any legal weapon( handgun, rifle, shotgun, bow, muzzleloader, muzzleloading handgun)
