I know we’ve had discussions on plugs and they’re effect on accuracy and most if not all have a fairly long fire channel . What would be the effect if there was no fire channel at all . Imagine a breech plug with the powder literally sitting on the primer as in a brass case if that hole widens would it affect accuracy the same way wear on the fire channel would ?

Too much pressure. The gun would likely be unsafe to shoot.

Shotgun primers don't work, they leak through; Pressure is too much. Rifle primers work, but one needs to use less powder to keep from having excess pressure. One need be aware of excess pressure; e.g. consider max load as 100g, not 120g when shooting Blackhorn.
