My first post!! As one has said, this user has posted this on 24 hr campfire as well. Im really not sure of this dudes agenda... He poted on 24 hr that he had been seeing "blown up" CVA's and wanted his "checked out"....Up until watching videos or seeing pics of those "blown up" guns he had not had a problem with his CVA for 10 yrs..... Paranoid!!!

Ok be specific what don't you understand? Is it just denial cause others are getting it. Did I seriously hurt your feelings?

@Herschel what I am hearing from your comment is if anyone has any negativity to post about an experience they are attacked in mass. When last I checked this is the United States of America not socialist China.

Seriously what don't you understand I had a bad experience with CVA. Now here's a hug go back to work and improve your customer service.

This post alone makes me think that one perhaps called with possibly unclear requests, and when something wasn’t addressed in a manner suitable to the person making the request, it was met with instant criticism. Once you decide someone is wrong it’s real hard to change your mind regardless of their attempts. Remember, you attract more bees with honey- and more maggots with sh...poop.

Exactly! At least over there, along with the vague information here, you could sorta figure out what he was requesting? CVA Customer Service didn't have a chance with his goofy request.

He said he didn't take the home pin out for 10 years? The surface rust probably was transferred to the pin from his hinge?

For the record, in case the complainant does come back to tell us how we don't allow negative comments, there's been several that have been posted and that's just how it is. I think everyone that has had interaction with Knight will agree that while not terrible, they're not great and definitely not in a hurry. And maybe this guy's interaction with CVA really was bad but he sure wasn't able to articulate it.
Oh well. I'm done here.

I am liking the positive posts about CVA ML customer service in this thread because I own 2 CVA ML.
Now I'm confident that I will get good service if I need it.
On way to check them for strength is to discharge a few magnum loads thru the bore with safety precautions.

Maybe the Arizona heat got to him If he had the rifle for 10 years and no problems why would he send it back? I wouldn't. I bought a forearm and the finish was sticky I called CVA a new one was in the mail I asked if I should send the sticky one back they said no. I have talked to others and they all gave high marks on the service

All of my dealings with CVA were started because I did something wrong, not CVA. I've always been treated very good. I left a rod in the ferrules on my Optima pistol and when I set the gun on the front rest I didn't notice that I had bumped the rod forward an inch. The muzzle blast blew that palm saver somewhere into the neighboring county. I contacted CVA about ordering a replacement rod and they said it was in the mail when they replied the following day. I've always been happy with dealing with them.

I think he was trying to get a free gun from CVA.If his gun was damaged by something he did or neglect I don't know.I don't think we got the whole story. When CVA wouldn't go along with it he badmouthed them on the internet.

This place is pretty decent. Fair, open, honest conversation. But if someone comes here with an agenda it’s not tolerated well. Shut it down before it gets out of hand.

Clearly he had some miscommunication with CS, but what I got from his post was that he was going to sell it and just wanted it inspected. Sounds like he's looking out for whoever buys from him. And he wanted to let others know about his problem with cs. It just seems like he was doing what he thought was right based on his perspective of events. He has been a member here for near on 10 years so he isn't a noobie. Just sayin... If i had a problem with a company, I would tell my friends about it. Maybe they would point out that I was being an ass, or maybe they would share similar stories or help me with the issue.
Im not saying that I know his motives but i would buy that gun from him. I had an Optima Elite and it was a good shooter. Still see the occasional barrel for it on GB.

Exactly what I was thinking. There is more to this story than is being told.

Possibly overloaded with powder, double load, shot his ramrod, or neglected to clean it?

He said he didn't remove the hinge pin for 10 years. You think there might have possibly been a little rust in the hinge after shooting and hunting maybe in inclimate weather after 10 years?

If they did install a new hinge pin, there might have been rust that transferred to the new hinge pin?

He even tried round two to possibly get them to give him a new rifle?

Sorry, but something smells awful fishy to me. Especially when he said all he wanted was a letter from them stating that the rifle was safe to shoot. Nobody I know jas ever questioned a rifle, unless they screwed up loading it or shot their ramrod.

I do believe there was a major failure to communicate exactly what he wanted, and they sure the rifle was safe to shoot. But why did he need that statement? To possibly redirect the blame should something happen to whoever bought the rifle?

To the OP.

From your second post. Post #8 in this thread.

I purchased the Optima Elite from CVA and my new Optima V2 from CVA. I mean why not right?

Unless he is Distributor, Dealer, or a FFL Holder, HE DID NOT PURCHASE HIS OPTIMA ELITE FROM CVA. The Optima Elite is a Form 4473 "Firearm", and they do not sell any 4473 Firearms to individuals like they do the muzzleloader only rifles and pistols that are under the "Antique" designation.

I didn't go back to the Fire to see how he is being received there, but it didn't look good the other day.

Either tell us the WHOLE story, or take your lumps. Because something is definitely being left out. And who is this CVA employee you were speaking to in this forum? Or was that just something from your imagination?

@Basta You looked up my stats? Wow I feel honored.

You forgot the "rd". I bet you thought you slipped that one passed everyone?

I think I'll go back and check on the fire. I hope your wearing your asbestos undies, because that place will light your arse up! Besides, I need a good laugh!
