In no way shape or form am I besmirching anyone, but they're not personalised messages. They are just going out to anyone who isn't a paid member.
I've received variations of the same generic message on 3 forums, two gun related and one brewing. The latter I haven't been on for years.
I think it's worth knowing that the current owners are in the business of running forums and I suppose we all need to earn a reasonable crust with what we do for money to make it worth while.
