How many years does T7 last?

Provided i keep my 1 lb bottle of Triple7 tightly closed, how many years can I expect it to last? I recently read something that said powders lose their potency over time. How true is this?

I'm still on a bottle that's 10 years old. 3Fg and 2Fg bought on sale back then. Still strong as ever and puts meat in the freezer.
I store it in a wooden cabinet. Probably will outlast me!

I spect it will last as long as black powder does. Put a desecant pack in it to draw any moisture.

I thought about that. Are u buying them or getting them out of other stuff and using them in your powder)

Go ahead and buy a few.

They’re fairly cheap, and come in many different sizes.

They packets usually say how much cubic volume they’re intended to protect. You can go a little overboard, but no need to go crazy.

I’ve got ones that rejuvenate by heating them in the microwave.

Probably NOT a good idea for anything that might have powder dust or residue on it…

I’m also using a bottle that’s over 10 yrs old shoots great. I went back to it when BH got ridiculous in price.

As far as loose powder T7 seems to hold up well but I have previously shot some pellets that seemed to have degraded in power with time.
