A GORGEOUS day! So I decide to take Calico to the range. She's my 24 inch 1-38 twist stainless/ blued/ walnut TC Firehawk .50 caliber.
The load was a 230 grain 45 caliber Hornady XTP in a regular Harvester sabot, 70 grains 3f Swiss lit by a Remington #11. Chrono'd velocity 1635 fps.
10 shot group 1 11/16
Largest 3 shot 1 1/8
Smallest 3 shot 7/16
At 100 yards.
Bead front sight aperture rear.
INTERESTING! Seriously though, she's proving to be my best rifle. Ever.
I bought her as a rescue. A badly fouled blued /walnut for $ 100. The bore was bad enough, so I found a stainless barrel on EBay for " buy it now" $150. Swapped the end cap, sights, thimbles, stock and sights from the blued barrel. Added an aluminum TC rammer for $20 and, for a total of $270,wound up with this superb rifle.
Happy. Happy. HAPPY!
