My heart be still. Brookies are my favorite.

I remember backpacking for elk just north of Steamboat. We couldn't carry enough supplies for 5 days of hunting so we brought a fishing pole. I dont think the brookies we fished ever saw a fisherman. Fun to catch, beautiful, and excellent eating.

Good for you LHR

Yesterday I was able to get on the Mtn for some ice fishing. I had a great day catching 34 of these beauties!View attachment 19885View attachment 19886View attachment 19887
Beautiful trout, thanks for the pics & sharing your experience with us all. I got turned on to trout fishing in my late 20's. I trout fished in Md. Pa Va Wva & Ny. I got 2 citations for big Rainbows I caught in Pa & I wish I'd have weighed the huge Brown Trout I caught in the Salmon River in Ny. I fell in love with freshwater finesse fishing. I did some ice fishing too. I moved to Fl 8yrs ago & havent wet a line since I got here. I started fishing as soon as I could hold a pole & really really miss it. I liked gettin done fishing & fileting them up breading & fryin them & some home fried taters N onions & a lil Jalapeno with some cold beer.

My favorite fish. Congrats.

This year I’m Colorado since my nonresident elk license will include a fishing license I plan to take a day and hopefully catch some trout.
