Hello to all from Arkansas.
Thank you for having me.

I have been blessed to have been shooting and hunting for a lifetime. At home and away.
Received my first ML in the late 70’s. You guessed it, a TC Hawken percussion cap.
In the 90’s I purchased a Rem 700ML.
Always enjoyed the TC. But never had much luck with the Rem.
Retired and have more time now. And I am planning to do more ML shooting/hunting.
Deer, Elk, Pronghorn, at least.
I have purchased a Knight-UL,50. And had the Bestill breech plug installed.
For working up a load, I have 777ff, mag #11 caps, BH209, CCI primers, few bullets from Harvester, Parker and Barnes.
I have resurrected the Rem700 and had the 209 breech plug installed in it as well.
Any load recommendations for either rifle would be appreciated.
Looking forward to learning from you guys.

Also, a couple of guestions.

What action screw torque do you use?

Would bedding the actions be recommended?

What kind of groups/accuracy do you expect and what distances do you shoot to?

Welcome from Illinois. I couldn't answer any of your questions being a newbie. But I'm sure someone will chime in soon with some insight.

Welcome from Colorado!

I like to bed my actions. I usually run my TC Omega action screws at about 35 lbs. I expect these hunting rifles to shoot under an inch at 100 yards and out to 500 yards depending on the load.
