I was working on sighting my Knight Mountaineer in, and I was hitting the bull at 65 yards. I cleaned it and took another shot and it was hitting about 8 inches low and hitting the same place on the next shot and was confused as to why I was hitting low. My question is, If my ram rod guide came loose would that mess with the integrity of the rifle? TIA

What powder are you using? Original Knight BP, Lehigh BP or something else? What primer are you using? Did you clean the carbon out of the flash hole and the flame channel?

Triple 7 pellets, 2 x 50, 1 x 30. CCI primer and yes I cleaned the breech plug.

No scope, open sights. I did just order williams peep sight and globe.

Barrel harmonics can make a big difference. Eight inches at 65 yards is huge though. I wouldn’t think you’d see that much with a harmonics issue.

When you cleaned i, did you tighten the stock mounting screws or take the stock and barrel apart?

No I didn't. I just got have only shot it 20 times.
