Need a little help here. . .

Just ordered a hundred rounds of No Excuses Conical. . ..

I am hopefully going to be firing these things out of a flintlock. . .Twist is 1:48.

My question is. . ..What powder charge should I use with such conical?

I use approx 92 grains of charge behind my REAL conicals, and I have excellent accuracy. . but that is a much shorter and lighter conical. . .either 250 or 320 grains.
The No Excuses is 490 grains. . . .

Any help in this arena?

When I shoot them out of a 1-48 twist I find 70 grains of black powder seems to work the best. Also if your shooting 3f in black powder in my Traditions 1-48 that seems to work even better then the 2f with the long conicals. But all rifles are a quandary unto themselves. So you might have to play a little. Start your charges low... the heavy conical will do the rest as you test.

So, you are saying trying approx 80 grains of 2F or 70 grains of 3f?

I think I am expecting a pretty good kick out of the gun. . .
I shove 92 grains of 2F behind a 250/320 grains REAL, and this projectile is almost double the weight.

Thanks.
