picked my first cucumber this morning.

once you picked your first, then the rush starts for the rest. up north to pick one today is good. how i do it is i put in plants early, when their is still danger of frost. then i cover each night with a clear plastic storage box. i use them like mini green houses. if a real frost is forcasted i cover the mini green house with a old blanket. ive done this the last few years and got much more and a lot earlier cucumbers. every thing is growing good this year. the trees and bushes are growing better than ever because of the early summers rains we got. much better than well water. lots of pie cherries on the pie cherry trees. got to beat the birds to them.
