Restocking the Savage

Besides Boyds what other stock options are there to replace the plastic stock? Will stocks for centerfire Savages work with mods for the ramrod?
I hate the plastic. I can squeeze the stock to the barrel and the balance is horrible.
I think even though I don't need another project gun to spend money on I'm going to pick this one up. You guys should all get a spiff from Savages' sales department.

Any stock for the 12BVSS-S heavy barrel will work.
