Got a bunch of sabots in yesterday and did a test fit with Hornady 250 grain XTP’s. I recorded the following:
(Combo) (Base of Bullet) (Base of Sabot) (Bullet and Sabot Together)
MMP + XTP .4515, .497, .507
HPH12 + XTP .452, .496, .506
HPH24 + XTP .4515, .496, .5045
3P-EZ + XTP .452, .4995, .503
Harvester Crush Rib + XTP .452, .498, .503 <—- Only one I could even BEGIN to push in the bore w/ fingers
Hornady SST Factory 250 grain w/ Supplied Sabot .4515, .495, .504

All were exponentially easier to seat than Barnes TMZ 250’s.

I think I’m going to begin load development with the Harvester Crush Rib + 250 grain XTP. From there I will play with Blackhorn 209 powder weight and move to tighter fits if I can’t get what I want. All load development will be done with same lot # blackhorn 209 and CCI Mag primers (I was fortunate enough to to be stocked up).
