I have noticed that many companies are charging sales tax on out of state purchases. The lack of sales tax helped to offset the shipping costs. Bummer!

NY adds a "Minimum Sales Tax Fee" to your regular State tax for online purchases. Your supposed to report any purchases from out of state suppliers.

As soon as I noticed Amazon charging me VA sales tax a few months back I knew it wouldn't be long before they all follow suit

Yep, many online businesses started charging state sales tax this year when the State of South Dakota won it's case in Wayfair vs. South Dakota. A customer at work informed me about it.
