After picking up my new muzzle loader from the gun shop after installing a new scope I noticed the 3 holes in the barrel where the front and rear sights used to be were left "open" with no filler screws in the holes. First I tried to put the sight screws back into the threaded holes to fill the space but not only did they stick up a little bit but the screws have a thick head on them. I then went to my gunsmith screw box and found that the 8-40 filler screws fit the threads but would not sink flush to the top of the barrel. Are there 8-40 filler screws available that would go down all the way into the barrel holes and fit flush to the barrel? The current 8-40's fit well enough and are a lot better looking than the sight screws from T/C but do catch on things like cleaning cloths and gun case liner. Member advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Richard.
