Myself I really favor the TK2000 in it’s ease of loading and handling. Shot patterns are awesome. But I had an idea about it also being a “slug gun”.
I have some Sabot Technologies “ Slug’s R Us” 12 ga slug wads and their “Hammer Head” slugs. Thought I’d give them a try in the TK.
That’s where the story starts.
The sabot’s ID = .503 and is splined. Their slug =.501 .
Oh boy. Game on.

So I tried various bullets in my first attempt today. Tried one of this and that first just to see if they’d fly right.
The three hammer heads grouped 3” at 50. 80gr Black MZ. Hammer Heads are 416 gr lead and wads are 74 gr.
Used a 1/8” felt OP.
The others showed promised. Gonna explore.
I should mention I was using an IC choke I made from a Mod .

Very manageable.
Comparable to the 1 3/4 oz shot load or less. The 1 3/4 TSS shot load weighs about 840 grains with wad.
The slug loads a lot less.
I only had one 250gr Sabot FTX or SST ( whatever it is LOL)
It grouped in the same area as the Hammer Head slugs.
Going to explore it. And chrono.
I did install a Limsaver recoil pad on my TK btw.
