Hello! The Traditions Buckhunter Pro that I have yet to fire is a fast twist (1-20) ,45 cal in-line with a 14 3/4 in barrel. Does anyone have any thoughts as to proper projectiles, powder types and charges for this pistol? It is setup for #11 percussion caps. Thanks.

try your standard 300 gr bullet/sabot combo with various powder charges and see how it does, would try 2f 777,3f 777 and maybe Swiss or Goex in the same.. Powder charges up to 100 gr by volume guessing about 80-90 will be best.

Its a 45cal fast twist. Sort of a rare beast as a pistol. A 45 1-20 will shoot many bullets in sabots fine once you find what yours likes. Good place to start is something cheap like the 200gr Hornady or Nosler 40cals and a pack of Harvester light blue sabots. Both of those bullets should expand ok at ML pistol speeds. Might check with Fury and see if he can make you up some heavier hollow points too. Upto around 250-260gr but make sure he knows you are limited to pistol velocity. Hawks bullets also sells some 40cal 225gr-250gr HPs and i know they expand easily.
