Nothing great but not bad without the sled. at 145-150 yards. It should be less that 3" low at 200yards. This year the field i hunt has been cut and i can reach out a bit farther if i get lucky.

Far right and left i pulled. All shots except the single low shot are MMP Short, .4495 Parker 275BE original, 58gr N120 and CCI209M. 4 shots on left were after a scope adjustment but i pulled the 2nd of 4 so i didn't try for 5. :p

This load has noticeable recoil in the ULA at 2400fps. 44gr of 4759 is quite a bit more pleasant (2250fps) and shot just as good at 75-80yard.

Bottom shot was Harvester Short Black, .4505 Parker 275BE original, 41gr N110 and CCI209M. I was just curious where it would hit compared to the N120.

All shot on a cold barrel (i put it in the fridge) , 70-80F temps and 10-15 mph winds. Not the really the best day for shooting on a old picnic bench in the sun.

Under ideal conditions, my fun loads of N110 and 4759 are so accurate its boring. :D

The weather threw me a curve yesterday but i had to try something different. It got upto 86F and i normally like to do my final sightin during similar hunting temps. I put the ULA in the fridge set to the coldest setting to get it as close as i could.

I also do my final sightin without the sled and this load does "talk to you". Over 3500fpe at the muzzle is brisk even in my Savage.

N120 is a pretty uncommon powder for the ULA but Chuck tried it with good results in this one. It has a 2" longer barrel than other ULAs and this year i have the potential for longer shots but they need to go down fast or they can get into some heavy cover.

I could have dialed in the Savage/Pacnor45 but i love this ULA. :D

Well to me, that is outstanding shooting. I would take that any day of the week. That is a game taker for sure.

Hmm it just so happens I have some N120 and a stock pile of 275 BE's  Its been unusually hot here being around 80 but highs in the 40s starting sunday and 30's monday. I haven't shot my NULA yet but will once the weather cools off.

44gr of 4759 and 41gr of N110 shoot good too and they might be a better choice if its really cold.

Check the OD on your Parkers. The ones from Traditions are .4505. Parker has sold them in both sizes. The .4495s load surprising easy for a tight MMP Short sabot. I figured that its a bit of insurance once the temps drop with a slower powder. Im using CCI209Ms also.

Be sure to give N110 a try with 225gr-250gr bullets. Even mild loads give nice fps and recoil is much less.

44 grains of 4759 and the 275/mmp SB is my go to load. <1"@100 all day long if I do my part. N110 and 250 xtp/barnes 225 xpb shoot awesome as well. I shot some 290 flat base barnes last year and they shot good but I cant find my notes on that load. I havent shot any of the N120 in my nula, I got it when I had my savage and shooting the 300 BO.

This is one of Chucks old posts using N120 in the ULA #2. There are a few more with other bullets too.

It pretty amazing the speeds the ULA gets compared to the Savage. My two main hunting loads were the same. 41gr of N110 and a Barnes 225gr is awesome and its a little screamer too. I swap out to the Hornady 225gr FTX for fun. IIRC i tried 43gr of N110 and got over 2500fps but groups opened up a little.

IMO 38-41gr of N110/225gr is probably all anyone would ever need in a ULA out to about 150 yards. Expansion is explosive up close but the Barnes retains over 200gr even with the petals blown off.

I resized most of my Parkers to .4495 for sabotless use in my Pacnor45. They are the Traditions version that are normally .4505 which shoot very good with a HSB sabot. They load on the loose side so i decided to try them with a MMP Short just to be safe with a slower powder.

BTW these loads in a Savage with 300gr bullets produce very mild pressures according to the traces ive seen. Im not sure what kind of pressures it makes in the ULA but the sabots looked excellent.

Harvester on the left and MMP Short on the right.

Oh forgot to mention GM that my parkers mic at .4505. My uncle is a dealer and he could have bought 5000 of the 275 be tradition version for $1000 from a distributer when traditions quit using em. Were still kicking ourselves for not doing it

I forgot the Barnes 225gr and 275gr expansion pics.
