Powder charge = 80 grain Blackhorn

Rifle - - Bottles = 25 yard

First two bottles were destroyed. Third bottle caught bullet; hole in large dent on back edge. Fourth, fifth, and sixth bottle undamaged.

The two shots on paper at 25 yards were touching, the shot at the bottles hit where it was supposed to.

Is that the same Lightfield that makes deer slugs?
I used to shoot them out of a 20 gauge slug gun. Very accurate and deadly on deer.

I used to shoot Lightfield 12ga slugs. Pretty accurate but only took one deer before switching to the Hornady 300sst. No real reason. They shot well enough. I think I just couldn’t find them one year. Looks like a good mushroom

Seems, Regardless of design - pure lead bullets stay together very well..
It’s the hardened bullets with a HP that seem to come apart much more easily.
80grV is around 1700fps.

X2. If i were shooting it i might try backing off a little bit. It seems to be right at the absolute max for that bullet.

Even at1200fps, Pure lead, HP with no Tip - should be good.

I've seen them at dunhams in Racine wi. It will kill but I bet it will fragment if it hits bone . That soft lead will not penetrate if bone is struck. I use hornady xtp 250 g. They look like flowers expanded
