I just pulled the trigger on a rcbs rock chucker supreme after some recommendations from the reloading forum. I also purchased a 4 set of lee dies I also got the 2 set rcbs dies to compare. Both dies are for 30.06.

I am going to be using H380, winchester brass, cci 250 primers chucking speer 150 grain boat tails. Not ideal but it is what I found that works (has published load data).

I am excited. Wish me luck!

The Rock Chucker is a dandy IMO. I've been using mine since the 70's loading mostly 30-06, but also some .44mag and 450 Bushmaster.
I have the full length competition die set for loading 30-06 rounds. I think today they call it the match master.
I no longer load for the 44mag and I have enough 30-06 that will outlast me. Seems I'm loading more 450 Bushmaster.
I had exceptional results using 165gr Speer BT in the "06". Haven't loaded in a LONG time now............

Enjoy, I’ve been reloading for decades. It’s not all about saving $$, more so a hobby. At least I don’t have any availability problems or ammo shortages here.

It’s tough to get supplies currently, especially all from one source. As you know, primers are the most difficult. Over recent years I’ve boughta few things from Armslist, eBay, forum classifieds, & the usual mail orders sites.

I'm signed up to receive the text alert once they come back in stock. I will let you know immediately after they let me know.

It was crazy I signed up for the text alert last night for the 9mm dies. I was buying the 30-06 and figured why not who knows they might come back. I didn't expect it to be the next day!

Let me know if you find the Lee 350 dies in stock some place. My neighbor is looking for a set.

When spending money it's best to spend it stupidly. Lol this just in I bought a 350 legend die. And I only paid nearly twice MSRP. Thanks again 2020!

Whatever at least I have it now.

This is your friend when reloading.
Absolutely. This especially applies to straightwalled cartridges like the 350L and 450BM. These are cartridges that get a crimp and Case length is very important to maintaining a consistent crimp size/tension. You should also get a case trimmer when you can too to help with maintaining the length. Reloading is a fun hobby that is like ML's it just don't know any end. ;) :D

Great minds think alike.

The calipers are an absolute must I have a pair I ordered however, I just bought a better one that has finer increments for better accuracy. Coal is extremely important in all cartridges as a deeper seated bullet will build up more pressure with the same load.

I will also eventually get a case trimmer. I doubt I can get a cheaper one with acceptable results.

And yes this is definitely a hobby in its own right. Almost as fun as shooting certainly enhances the experience. Or what my buddy calls "a life style" lol.

Speaking of that crimp on the 350... So in my browning 124 grain plinking rounds I notice the roll crimp however it looks like it is only worked around 3/4 the diameter of the cartridge.

Am I seeing right? Is that 1/4 part left uncrimped to seat the cartridge in the chamber?

Experienced reloaders all over are saying the 350 is a bit tricky.

I don't have a 350 yet but that sounds very odd too me. All Crimps I have seen are all the way around. A crimp that does not go all the way around the case mouth does not make any since to me as that should cause uneven tension between the case mouth and bullet. I do load the 450BM and the real trick I have seen to squeezing the most accuracy out if it is to get the right crimp and maintain it. Cases will grow in length some during firing so trimming them will let you keep from constantly tweaking the crimp die.

Got an old RCBS single stage from late 60`s or early 70`s. The one that the handle does not stay up. Been using it for years but i have been thinking about replacing it for reason stated above but besides that it does it`s job well.

350 Legend and 450 Bushmaster headspace on the mouth of the case. Very important that the case is long enough. I saw a gent blow apart a Ruger that had improper headspace 350 Bushmaster. Not sure but maybe you are correct Half-Cocked about the uncrimped portion being as a safety measure. I know if the case is too short, the firing pin strike can drive the case forward as it fires and wala case head separation.
