to buy from CVA?
Which rifles are a good buy?
With the supposed crap they had put out into the Paramount line are there any that they make that are still worth buying?
I only ask because of the recent thread on their lack of quality control coming out lately.

I bought a CVA Accura MR 50 cal 3 years ago with no issues at all. I don’t think it’s made anymore without getting an MR-X. I could be wrong.

got a MRX 50 for christmas , advertised to have their finest Bergera barrel . returned it because it wouldn't hold a patch on the jag and when i pulled the BP and looked in this is what i saw . double click to zoom for a bigger pic

There were reports of some quality control issues even 3 yrs ago. Both my Accura V2 .45 and Paramount are 2019, fortunately there have been no problems with either one for me, but sadly thats not the case for everyone.

The bore of my MR looks good and nothing like Jeff’s. With 100grV of BH209 and a Barnes 290gr T-EZ, I get a 1” to 2” group at 100 yards. Good enough for hunting since all of my shots are under 100 yards.

be American,buy American.
My first muzzleloader is a Knight LK-93 that I bought around 1995. I believe it was made in the USA. Our muzzleloader seasons are the only way to take a doe in VT with a rifle. I converted it to use 209 primers when Knight came out with the conversion kit. I still have it and is now a backup to my CVA.

I have a Woodman Arms 45 cal Patriot on order. Thinking of selling the Knight, keeping it or just give it away as I don’t think it has a lot of value. It’s a good shooter with 2 50gr Pyrodex pellets and a Barnes 290 gr T-EZ bullet/blue sabot.
