I got this fever, so to make me feel better, I bought a Kentucky long rifle. Cheapest one i could find was $394.00, free shipping from midway. Its a .50 cal., percussion, all put together not kit!! I know you get what you pay for but Traditions actually did a very good job on fit and finish for such a low cost rifle. Not expecting much, went out back and started shooting. Wow, one of the most accurate side locks i ever shot, from 0-100 yds., using a prb and 60 grains of 3f . The iron sites are nothing pretty but seem to do the job a very good job.. i will kill deer with this gun. Such a pleasure to shoot, and a very, very accurate inexpensive rifle….

I was going fishing this morning, but woke up to thunder and lightning and heavy rain so I think instead I'll go to the shop, get the digital scale warmed up and weigh out some more powder charges and get them tubed. and range ready.

I'm a plastic bait color junky so when the powder has been measured and things put away, I think I'll fire up the plastic injector and make up some baits in some new colors that I've found Kietech putting out this year.

I have a Traditions Woodsman Hawken in a .50 rock sparker . For my $418 total n it was assembled n it shoots very well. I am also hunting with it this Fall for those tick toters !

I changed out red dots this morning. I had a 4 moa, went to a 2 moa. Have shot twice to get on target at 25 yards. 1st prb was low about 3 " n left about a foot. Shot 2nd prb still some low but looks like i need to move right about 2 clicks. Only using 45 gr of T7-3F. Just enjoying my piddling. This was on my T/C Hawken .45

Got the vinyl sheeting laid on the trailer floor and put some flex seal on the roof around the TV antenna. Next up is the shoe molding. Pretty pleased with how its turning out. Should last the remainder of my life.

Looks real nice phalanx. Lots of self-satisfaction in a job like that. There's nothing like sitting back and smiling when a task like this turns out looking great and you've done it yourself.

I've done a bathroom floor with vinyl planking and have enough to do our furnace room and laundry room floors. The furnace and laundry rooms are compact, and I plan to do one on a rainy day then do the other on another rainy day. When I finished the bathroom floor Ma stood in there and just looked and looked. I thought she was not happy with the color or something until she turned around and had a gang buster's smile.

Thank you very much Mr. Tom! It was very satisfying to see how well it turned out. I was a bit nervous when I first started the project.

I changed my tub/shower in "my" bathroom a few years back, took the tub out and went with a walk-in shower and put tile on the floor along with changing the sink/vanity. It looks good and my wife complimented me on the job but I don't think I'd do it again.

Mr. Tom, I didn't consider that part of the equation (better half)!!! I'll have to try telling her its beyond my capabilities!!

Pics from the bathroom change out.

I am gettin ready to do some shooting & load testing,
I was fixing to buy a new beam scale in grains this past wk & when I saw what even good used ones were selling for, it hit me, I have a 30yr old Ohaus tripple beam thats seen everything BUT gunpowder on it. Why not use it for something helpful & use that money for one of my ongoing projects & obsessions. So I got a small notebook like I use for my ballistics on diff ML's & my El Cheap-o digital scale & I loaded 50 tubes for a ladder test & some for 3 shot groups.
I was able to use the beam scale to dump charges once I weighed one out on the digital. It wasn't an " exact & precisely " accutate down to the .01 but it was consistantly close enough between them to shoot MOA or better on my home range for sure.
I'm almost out of 209 primers for my Accura & I just bought a new scope for it over the wknd & I just got 100 .40 200gr XTP's & 200 more LBCR's, so I've been wanting to shoot it. I just dug thru some boxes of the fathers shootig stuff that my mother is getting rid of & I found 300 209's & 40 LRP's so I'm all set for a lil bit now. I will have the new scope & new DNZ 1pc mount this wk sometime.
I got some steel square tubing to make some decent target stands - finally too. I need all new target stands from 50yds on to 400yds. They are all wood & now pretty ragged & rotten. The 200 250 & 300yd targets are completely gone. I have 2 tomato stakes in the ground I staple cardboard to for my 200yd target which I shoot the most. Straight up Hucklebuck for sure.

Shot the tk 2000. With elite ranger wads and copper shot. Trying to figure out the beat pattern system for it. Shot my .44 caliber 1851 colt navy after I made a front sight for it so I'm not shooting 3 feet high now fifty cent piece at 20 yards with five shots and then cleaned my knight american that I customized
