I dug my old Encore out of the back of the safe, swapped the .50 for a .45 barrel and installed a scope. Last time I shot her was in Africa in 2016. She’s gettin some range time tomorrow!

Cleaned my new 45 cal LR-X, removed the 3-10×44 Konus scope and OEM rail and put on a 3-9×40 Leupold VX-1 along with a new rail. This makes three of the -Xs I've taken a chance on from Midway, all in 45 cal. Two are MR-Xs. All have no visible quality issues I can see and I have no complaints as of yet. Will not get to shoot them until March/April. Will try conicals but mainly interested in shooting sabots.

Also got some parts in for my Frankenstein Thunder Hawk. Had a barrel and stock but needed internals and the rear plug. Finally found everything and put it together. Put the Konus scope that came with the LR-X on it. Hoping it will be a shooter with the 240gr XTP in a green sabot.

I'm planning to reorganize my shooting box later today.
My plan is to take the flintlock rifle out tomorrow.
I've only shot round balls out of it but I have some different conicals that I want to try out.

I received a new cva 36" ram rod yesterday from midway and today epoxied a golf ball on the end as a palm saver...drilled the golf ball just slightly larger than the rod diameter and some 5 minute epoxy...

Not much, picked up a FIE .45 n moved it. Had scotch brited the bore, it has been snagging the cleaning patches. Maybe a crud ring n carbon build up. Its my friends rifle , trying to get it ready to shoot

Same thing i do every day, read every new post on this forum. Add my 2¢ where i can.
Also talked to Ninering on the fone for a little while. I dont enjoy talking on the fone much so thats kind of a big deal, for me.
Going to size some bullets and weigh out some powders for next weekend.

First 6 Bullets down range with the Omega 45 Cal Factory 28 twist this is a fury 225 and 68 grains by weight of Blackhorn it shows some potential,,will bump up little,,,I took it out of the thumb hole pretty laminate stock that it came in and put it in the plastic with the more traditional grip it's better for me I wash out when I'm shooting left or right with a thumb hole too easily

I went up to the range this afternoon to shoot the flintlock.
Learned something, don't go to the range on a Sunday afternoon.
The place was packed.
Needless to say that I didn't get to shoot.
Week day morning next time.
