    cva wolf trigger pull

i think a crisp trigger can shoot well even at 4 lbs. my 308 is a little over 5 but crisp. it shoots under a moa. my 22/250 is right at 3 and it doesn't beat the 308 by much for accuracy. anyway, bundled up in n. wi. probably sitting with mittens, probably taking a shot under 100 yds. a heavier...

    cva wolf trigger pull

my gunsmith said he can no longer fiddle with trigger pulls due to insurance. i called cva and they were very helpful. said to pack up the action and send it to them. i will let you know how it turns out. 3.5-5lb. would be fine with me.

    cva wolf trigger pull

yes, from the factory 2.5 lbs. ok for my 22/250 but not my 50 cal. muzzleloader. bob

    cva wolf trigger pull

anyone tried to adjust the trigger pull? 2.5 lbs is just too light for me. could a competent gunsmith do it? say up to 3.5 or 4lbs? bob

    rust on stainless steel cva

do you think the s.s. in an accura or optima is different? and i never read the results of that test.

    rust on stainless steel cva

so here is my take on this...........in the 60's when i was a kid some writer in shooting times or guns and ammo got a hold of one of the first entirely s.s. pistols made by a big gun maker, smith, probably. his article was about the gun and his plan to bury it in the backyard for a year to test...

    rust on stainless steel cva

yea, at the time i didn't think much of it. must just be some ''crud''. it can't be rust, it's stainless! bob

    rust on stainless steel cva

ii bought this cva wolf last year and i have put about 20 rounds thru it. accuracy is great with 300 gr hornady, 3 shots in 11/4'' at yds. at the first shot last year i noticed a little rust in the muzzle, where the rifling is not present . i have 30 rifles from when i was 16 in '67 and have...

    cva wolf

with a dremel tool i have removed a 1/4'' of the release lever for the barrel. took a little longer than i planned as it was steel but now it protrudes forward from the trigger guard maybe 3/16''. a little cold blue and it looks better than original. i plan to trim it more after hunting season...

    cva wolf

i had my cva wolf out hunting a few days and wanted to make a few comments. the gun shoots very good. i sighted in for 125 yds. the hornady 300 gr with red sabot and 80 weighed gr of bh 209 grouped a moa at that range . that by itself makes the gun a keeper for me ..........but, i have seen [not...

    trajectory

thanks guys for the info. found the hornady calculator website and the bh209 chart in all this. since my newly acquired 300gr hornady's grouped under 1/2'' at 50 yds. with 77gr weighed bh209 i'm gonna run with that. chronograph, 200 yd range, this is gonna work. bob noffs

    trajectory

i have been poking around the internet looking for trajectory charts for black powder bullets. not having a lot of luck. plenty of ''apps'' that will figure it for you. anyway......i came across some testing a shooter did with different bullets. according to his tests the most efficient bullets...

    cva wolf tight barrel

dennis sent me a few .500 bullets to try for fit. went in ok. resistance 20-30 lbs? i will shoot a group at 100 yds, 77 gr bh weighed and if that works out i will buy a box.

    how much powder?

    Blackhorn Density

so maybe in post #39 i should have said consistancy, not accuracy. say your most accurate shooting load may be 100 gr by volume . and then the density of the powder changes and now 100 gr by volume is not your most accurate load. i think the weight of the original 100 gr by volume will always...

    Blackhorn Density

i guess i have a hard time believing volume is more accurate. it's a chemical reaction and energy from a chemical reaction is calculated by the weight of the materials[which translates into number of molecules] in the reaction. if volume was consistant, like gasoline volume would be accurate but...

    cva wolf tight barrel

hi all, posting this to report what i found and to hear others experience . got the sample packs of fury 50 cal. jacketed bullets for my new cva wolf. after fouling the barrel i started with the .501 diameter. i have no reason to ever try that again. it was so tight i was afraid i was going to...

    proven load

after a lot of reading my first attempt will be with bh209 and fury 320gr [or 325] plain tipped bullets with a wad. maybe then the xtp in 300 gr. with the green sabot . bob noffs
