Lee has thm for about 25 bucks. I have a 50 and a 54 round ball , they work really well and just as accurate as Hornady or Speer round balls.

That 58 with a 500 gr. bullet would kick like my super light barreled 45-70 gov. and that is a lot of kick.

I just might try my 360 gr. conical that I make with my Lee mold for my 50 cal. If it shoots good with my 1/48" twist I might go that way and dont think it will make much difference.

I will be hunting over bait and the shot will likely be 25 yards. The only reason I even ask is cause I had a bad experience ,,,, but turned out to be one of my best hunts of my life. Those beard can run, and they dont always bleed out ,, and they can be very hard to find.

I have a bear tag for Wisconsin this fall and wondering if anyone has shot bear with their roundballs. My only concern is them running off before I get a second shot, and that is very unlikely.

The Williams sight mentioned above is the same one I have. I am happy with it for hunting but the hole could be a bit smaller for targets. I think they should make the whole insert of the peep in several different sizes and make the whole insert bigger.

Why thanks Idahoron. I didnt know that. However, it was in the ceiling and was 3' wide and 10' long. and was like a lead wall above the ceiling tiles. I assume this would be 40-1 equal. It is very thin and flexible however. It should make a nice roundball even with the 40-1.

I used to use my cast 45-70 bulllets and swage them down to .452. I shot quite a few in my Encore and TC Impact. They shot just as good as any other bullet. I think it is a 330 gr bullet.
