Been having an unreasonable amount of fun with my new ( to me) .50 caliber Thunder Hawk.
ACCURATE little booger! But I was a little concerned if I was losing anything to my Black Diamond with its 1-28 twist. The 2 bullets I shoot most often are the 250 and 300 grain XTP's. According to Greenhill, the 250s need a 1-49 to stabilize and the 300s a 1-39.
So, I'm good. This twist might do better with full calibers too. This barrel doesn't have the QLA.
Recoil with the heavier bullets may prove interesting. Even with the walnut stock, she's barely 6 1/4 pounds. But the stock design really helps control things.
Good rifle.
