Coming from a PPC and a br background, even though it's been years ago, I love what he's doing, I've said this and I will again I shoot my muzzleloaders loaders as if they are benchrest rifles, and I am absolutely looking for the same result, those numbers give me confidence.

Got out today to shoot 250 grain furry bullet to bore.
I missed my sizing so it was miserable. I should have stopped but I made lemonade out of it.
So I first off forgot to put a wad on my first load on a clean barrel. My plan was to shoot 2 to foul and then shoot 2 groups of five.
Well my load force was way tight probably in the 40s after my clean bore.
I decided to shoot 5 without the wad and 5 with the wad.
I was a bit frustrated so the groups showed lack of focus.we will leave it at that......
The intersting thing was what thr chrono showed.
Load 250 furry 452 63 imr 4198 fed 215m

Without wad.

With wad.
Needless ti say I'll be running a dry wool wad from now on.

Yes those are excellent numbers. But I don't think that 6PPC shooter will be pushing a 300 or 325 gr bullet though.
I'm thinking what it shows in my gun is a constant.
With 3 different bullets and weights I've had single digit SD with a wad ( thanks Eldiablo)
It will be very important at 500 yards and beyond as the external ballistics count on a velocity constant. 50 ft sec loss is a miss at 600 on a deer .

Ok the wait is over I'm ready to let you guys in on what I've been playing with.

I made a tunner brake and accompanied load thru funnel.
If you rember the load work from a week or so ago I hit on a very low SD combination.
Which is really good.
I just had to make it shoot.
I remember a post I wrote about tunners and when they were applicable.
This is one of those situations.
I'd already turned the PRB dynamo bullets so I was sure it would work.
Starting at that setting which ended up being fully extended towards the brake I started moving back to try and hit a high node.

First group at the starting point

I moved back 1.25 turns or -5 /420240408_163755.jpg
Here is -6
20240408_163800.jpg
And finally -7
20240408_163807.jpg
I'm going to try -8 and -9
All groups shot with furry 250 63gn Imr4198
Wool wad fed 215m
All shots combined SD OF 9
Which is remarkable
Stay tuned lol

The tuner brake looks great, and those targets shrunk right up didn't they. Not to mention those sweet single digit SD's. Nice work brother
