Distance between rifle, and bottles is 25 yard. Load is 80g 777 powder, 230g Gold Dot bullet, crush rib sabot, Winchester pistol primer.

Photo shows first bottle at right is demolished. Bottle at left is second bottle; contains bullet. The last four bottles are undamaged.

The clock was placed where the horse was, and two shots were clocked. First shot speed right there at 25 yard is 1749 fps. Second shot speed is 1754 fps.
 
Interesting the velocity is in range of BH209 (80grV).
Results at those speeds aren’t surprising.

I'm more along the lines of liking 2 holes in the animal. Kind of disappointing cause the 250gr did well and the 300gr did phenomenal. Is this gold dot not bonded like the others?
 
I agree with GM54. You’re setting yourself up for a lot of tracking wounded deer with that kind of bullet performance. And who knows where those fragments will end up?
 
When I looked at the pictures my thought excellent varmint bullet if it shoots.I wouldn't use it for deer.
