The 270gr Gold Dots are out of an inline. Mine is an Encore, and my Dad's is a Lyman Mustang.

My Dad also uses 240gr Gold Dots in his Tyron traditional using 90gr RS with a peep sight. AMAZING accuracy.

Does anyone know where someone might have surplus 50 cal 410gr Great Plains?

Not to get too far off the subject... Several years ago, I watched my Dad shoot an egg (off hand at a slug shoot) at 75 yds with that Tyron and 240gr Gold Dots. He took 1st place in the iron sights division. 4 out of 5 shots in the 10 ring at 50 yds off hand. The 5th was JUST outside the 10 ring.

Off hand shooting is something you really have to practice. When I was young, we always shot off hand. And I was actually pretty good at it. Then as I moved into target shooting and hunting from blinds, I got away from off hand shooting. Now I find it a real challenge to shoot accurate off hand.
