https://www.modernmuzzleloader.com/threads/kodiak-bear.56213/Everything outside Indiana is just a dream for me. It’s either cost prohibitive or the ridiculous draws that take forever then still cost out the butt do. My dream hunt would be caribou or brown bear in Alaska. It’s gotten so costly that even a good fishing trip is outrageous now days.
Before the Communists took over New Zealand, I wanted to go there for a Red Stag.
You should be able to find an aoudad hunt relatively easy and probably not real expensive here in TX. There’s a guy on 24hr Campfire that has them for sale every once in a while.
People really underestimate muzzleloadersI've had a couple guides contact me about Aoudad hunts. Most don't believe they can get me close enough for a shot. Most ask if I will settle for shooting one with a borrowed centerfire.
They are definitely there! There is always the Green Swamp Public land with plenty of big bears.Down around Supply, NCMine is to go to eastern N.C. for those 500-700 lb black bear are.Yes with a muzzy. But $4000.00 and up is a litle much.So that will have to wait til I hit the lottery.DREAM BIG!
At 67 I think you pretty-much nailed it when it comes to ageing. I've been hunting since I was 12 like most of us. I'm glad to have hunted hard physically when I was younger. Good news is the mind stays young for the thrill-of-the-hunt.I think that life sneaks up faster than we realize. Young, no time, money needed for other responsibilities,. fast forward to, time in retirement but health issues keep us from our true bucket list of yesteryear. We now realize that the smaller things in life are really more important now… and that the bucket list does change with age. Good luck and keep fighting that covid issue, the glass is half full !!
