Custom Omega trigger

Browsing GB today and saw this custom Omega for sale(buy it now $2500) it is listed as having a Trigger Tech trigger. The guy is a regular seller on there and i may even have bought from him once. But a Trigger Tech on an Omega? Im skeptical. If its true i would definitely buy one.

That is a mistake. The triigger tech triggers are only on the remington. Better correct that
The older you get the more stuff like that happens
Although Jeff did work on the trigger to get it a little better than it was it is a regular Omega action

I have to tell you I am building a brux barrel omega from woodman, I really wanted a better trigger on this gun, I searched everywhere on the internet and found practically nothing.so went at like this, I started with a 4 lb trigger, by the time I was done she is now a 2 lb and smooth as glass.I started with valve grinding compound between the sear and just kept cocking and pulling the trigger, I then cleaned it with brake clean and compressed air, then I used j b bore paste and repeated the process.I then took a small screw driver and pushed the trigger spring as far forward as possible, trying to weaken it a bit.cleaned it out and applied w d 40 specialist gel lube.it is now a great trigger in my opinion.I did this without taking anything apart,the action wasn’t on the barrel it was in my hand, I also put a piece of leather over the firing pin while I was pulling it

I’m still shocked at $2,500….

I mean it is a custom made rifle that’s smokeless capable, made by a highly respected man and has some really cool open sights equipped. I would have bought it from him awhile ago if I wasn’t having Woodman setting me up with a barrel. But I get it. It’s expensive no doubt but high quality isn’t always cheap.

Oh I get it. After looking at the auction it’s $2,000 now. I’d say that’s a little more inline with what he’s got. I’ll be surprised if it sells for that honestly. Hope all the best for him though.

Most if not all triggers can be improved. Filing, polishing, and replacing a spring or two. Caution, confirmation, and proof of safety are needed.

Agreed! During a hunting club work day today I was talking to one of the guys and he said he had some trigger work done on a Winchester Model 70. Now it will fire when closing the bolt sometimes. It’s a fine line with a trigger.

I did a little work on my Win 70 trigger. It is too easy to over do it on those.

There is a book written by a gunsmith named McPherson.



It is an excellent investment for a serious shooter. Ive purchased it 3 times. Then I lend it out and it never comes back. He outlines a lot of details to do a trigger job. Most important is the procedure to test your trigger work to make sure you dont create a dangerous trigger. I used this book from beginning to end to go though all my rifles. My feeling is you can take an inexpensive rifle and make it a tack driver by following his improvements.

I stopped at 2lb, and made sure I had proper rebound, I also banged the butt and tried to make it trip.I bet I could have gotten it even better, but I wasn’t going to make it unsafe,plus I didn’t want to ruin the trigger I have, it made a nice trigger

COOL! Good job then. I like a 3lb trigger pull for my hunting guns bc of usually hunting in freezing temps & have gloves on, barring the fact that I'm heavy-handed anyway. But on a bench rest target gun, I like 1.5-2lb trigger. Anything is better than the normal factory Omega trigger pull.
