what is a good price for cva hawken,s 50 cal. flintlock, a local shop has one for 279.00, is this to much, thanks

Depending on the condition, its not a bad price. I'd check the frizzen for severe wear/gouging on the face of the frizzen, make sure the double set triggers work, inspect the stock for cracks, etc. Most importantly, look in the bore with a flash light for pitting.
