I'm truly impressed with these single shot rifles. I bought one in .45-70 with the thought of converting it into a SML. Having several other 45-70s I decided to shoot it first to see how accurate it was. After running a few different bullets thru it and being amazed how it shot and the lack of recoil due to the muzzle brake I decided to keep it as is. Still wanting a SML I bought another and immediately upon receipt sent the barrel to Jeff at Hankins for the conversion and had it back in a week counting shipment both ways. After solving a scope issue this little rifle is definitely another shooter.
IMO if these rifles shoot this good in other chamberings and you want a moderately priced single shot or looking for a rifle to teach a youngster to shoot and hunt with I don't think you could go wrong. I would recommend the take down model with rhe muzzle brake over the other one.
